Going, going, going

That’s what has been going on here!  Last week, I went to Columbus and then came back. We’ve been home a few days and have been enjoying this GORGEOUS weather up here! :) The boys and I are leaving again tonight to go to Columbus again! I need a haircut and I have several photo sessions this weekend! Fun, fun! So, this is going to be a HUGE post full of last week’s photos and this week’s so far. I will *try* to post on Saturday night when I get home. Gav may stay in Columbus if Gram will let him, so I might have some free time ;)

Here lately, B has been addicted to binks. Weird. I think he must be teething. He’s 8 months old and still doesn’t have any… we will see.

Also, Gav has been a whiner lately ;)

Love me some Brotherly Love!

Don’t love me some whining ;)

B has mastered this army crawling (and sometimes real crawling) so we have to gate him in the living room He wanted out.

Later, I did let him out and blocked off the stairs with the gate…

I thought B needed a mohawk. I think he liked it! :)

Last Tuesday, he found a magazine. I think he liked the girl on the cover ;)

Last Wednesday, I got to officially meet Mr. Nolan. Isn’t he a doll?? I love babies!!

B got a sink bath at Gram’s house. Do you think he liked it?!

Snoozin’ at Gram’s…

B and his rolls ;)

This is Gavin. Mad because he had to get out of the shower…. after he threw a similar fit because I made him get in the shower…

Did I mention the weather is beautiful here?! Sunday, after church, we spent most of the afternoon outside. B got to go on his first wagon rides ;)

Gav helped Dalton plant some flowers… hopefully they’re no maintenance flowers. I don’t have a green thumb ;)

The joys of having boys.

Bink addict.

Monday was beautiful again! B wore some of Gav’s old clothes (size 18 months!!!) and we played outside a bit…

Do I have a redhead?!

Gav wanted a picture with me… we tried.

Last night, Gav gave B some snacks on the kitchen floor… B also got grumpy ;)

So, he got a bath and a bottle… he crashed ;)

B wanted to give you a “sneak peek” of his Easter outfit…

I bribed Gav for a photo…

What I learned this week.

Hello, all! :) We just got back from a few days in Columbus. I promise I have photos to share, but that will be a separate post. For now, I want to just share some very important things I learned this week.

1. Don't take anything in your life for granted.
This should always be a given, but this week, I was reminded of this lesson. I am a member on an all women photography message board. A few months ago, a woman joined and told a little about herself, including that she had a terminally ill husband. You can follow her story here Sunday night, the message board got together and had a photographer come to the family's home for some photos on Monday. Brandi's husband passed away on Tuesday. My heart breaks for them.

I took a step back and just looked at everything we have. I have 2 healthy boys, a husband who provides everything for our family, anything I could ever need. We are blessed. I also took the time to realize that these things are not always guaranteed. I need to forever be grateful for everything I have at this moment. I can't imagine losing my husband right now. I pray for Brandi and Kate every single day, multiple times.

2. A newborn baby will always give me baby fever!
My good friend, Sara, just had a beautiful baby boy this week. This was actually the reason the boys and I headed to Columbus ;) Baby Nolan is just perfect. He had a bit of a rough start, but he's home now and doing fabulous! :)

Holding Nolan in the hospital made me relive all the moments of pregnancy, childbirth, having a newborn. I found myself wanting another baby, even though I have an 8 month old!! I know it is crazy, but there is nothing like bringing a new baby into this world!

3. There are two cures for baby fever.
First cure, having another baby.

Second cure, a toddler meltdown. Specifically, a toddler meltdown at 3:30 in the morning about a bouncy ball that was left in the car. So, after trying to calm Gavin down about the ball and trying to convince him that we would find it in the morning, we ended up searching the car at 3:30 in the morning. This kid does not forget anything! He also reminded me that all babies grow up to be toddlers ;) Baby fever gone.

4. I have the greatest mom ever!
She is willing to watch one or both of my boys at the drop of a hat! I got to go see Mr. Nolan the night he was born, without my boys! :) It was fabulous! I also got to go out to eat with a good friend because she took Gav to church with her. She's so great! :)

5. I sometimes like middle of the night feedings.
No, I don't want to get up every single night, but I don't mind getting up every once in a while. I realize that these days are numbered. My babies won't be babies forever. If feeding B means he'll fall asleep in my arms and snuggle for a while, then heck yeah! :) I just love when he grabs my arm and just hangs on for his whole bottle. I love watching him sleep. He is an angel. I don't want to forget these moments.

I may come back and add to this if I remember some other things I learned!

Two little sicklies

This has been a super long week. Brock has been sick for what seems like FOREVER! Last Saturday, I ended up taking him to Children’s Mercy Urgent Care because his breathing was horrible. They found he had an ear infection in each ear and gave us antibiotics for that. They took a chest x-ray and all looked clear, so they had us continue with the breathing treatments with Albuterol. Joy. Thankfully, my dad came to spend the day with Gavin while I took B to the doc.

Let me rave about Urgent Care for a bit :) I love that place! This was the 2nd time we had to take B there for breathing issues. The nurses and docs are fabulous!! There is a nurse in the room every 15 minutes and the doc about every 30, if not more often! They were so busy that day and I still felt like they truly cared about Brocky :) I didn’t feel like they were just trying to get us out of there, like I’ve felt in the ER before. I don’t want to go back there ;) but if we ever need to, I know we are in the best hands.

Here are a few photos from Urgent Care. Doesn’t he look so pitiful in the 1st one?

Sunday, we had pancakes for dinner. B loved them, so I gave him one to chew on :) Look how happy he is!

Then, Gav was jealous of B. He wanted pictures, too.

Monday, we had to follow-up with our regular pediatrician about B. He was not feeling well at all that morning. Poor guy just kept crawling around and laying his sweet head down.

Well, we spent almost 3 hours at the doc and came home with two new meds, on top of the 2 we all ready had. More breathing treatments.

Look, someone got a new mask! This one’s a dinosaur!

Although B has been sick, you’d never know it. He’s been so happy and learning new things :) He’s now very mobile (see prev. post) and he can go from a crawling position to a sitting position and back! Here is how I found him Tuesday after his morning nap! I love this… boogers and all!

Silly Gav.

Wednesday, Gav woke up with a fever, cough and sore throat. Most of the morning, you couldn’t tell he didn’t feel well though. He was pretty crazy. That changed very quickly though.

Airbrush ;)

My miserable little guy. Look at those rosy cheeks :(

This makes me laugh. B was in the jumperoo and I was going to take his photo when he jumped! This is how it turned out! Peek-a-boo!!

Thursday, crashed on the floor.

Spiderman :) size 2T, actually.

Let’s pray that next week brings me healthy boys!
