We love pumpkins

Every year, I so look forward to taking the boys to the pumpkin patch. There’s nothing more heartwarming than seeing my boys bouncing with excitement about PUMPKINS!! :) This year was the best year yet. Gav was on a mission to see every pumpkin in the patch. Brock just ran to every pumpkin so excited! We went to a different and free patch this year and I’m pretty sure it will be our yearly patch :)

Jon is such a good sport He knows I want a bazillion photos and never complains <3

Poor B. Fell right into a rotted pumpkin. We were so far from the car, but Jon just swooped him up (after I took a picture) and carried him back to the car and changed him. He’s a rockstar dad. Be jealous, ladies.

and my favorite photo. B and the pumpkins. <3

My how they’ve grown

Yeah, yeah, it’s been a while. Don’t remind me.

You know how people always say, “Time flies so fast when you have kids,” or something like that? Well, they know what they’re talking about. I feel like just yesterday we got married and just had a dog to worry about. Not sure how we got here and have an almost 5 year old (yes, 5!) and a 2 year old. Two months from now, B will be the same age Gavin was when B was born. Crazy!

Anyway… Today, I was looking for photos from LAST October when I came across one where I thought, “Holy cow! My boys have grown a ton in the last year!”

Last October, with their pumpkins:

and a few weeks ago with their pumpkins:

Where does the time go and who are these big kids?

We love dads

I’m a few days late with a Father’s Day post, but forgive me. I just took the photos off of my camera last night :)

For Father’s Day, we went to my dad’s house and then went to the lake for a bit. We just played on the “beach” and relaxed. The boys had a blast. Gav was a fish and didn’t want to get out of the water. B preferred the sand, so we played in the shade.

Before we left, I got out the camera to get some photos of the boys with their dad and papa and photos of my brother and me with our dad.

I’m so very thankful for these two dads. I truly don’t know what I’d do without them.

To Jon. Thank you for being such an amazing dad to our boys. I honestly don’t think God could have given me anyone more perfect. You work all day and come home and just take over with the boys. You were made to be a dad. I love you more.

To my dad. Words can’t describe how thankful I am for you. I’m so blessed that our relationship over the last few years has grown the way it has. I love that any time we need you, you’re here without hesitation. I couldn’t ask for a better papa for my boys. They truly think you’re the best! I love you, dad.

Happy Easter (just a little late)

I’m finally getting around to posting the boys’ Easter photos. I found the perfect outfits and a great location. I had a vision. One that resulted in a large photo for the mantle. My boys didn’t like my vision ;) The only thing we got out of this fun little session?
fyi, most of these aren’t even edited…. you can see why.

After those first few tries didn’t work… I decided to get corny. Stick them in the suitcase and hope for smiles. Yeah, no deal.

These next few are the best from the day… sigh

Brock tried to blow a dandelion. I think he ate most of it.

I did get one photo for our mantle. I printed the b&w version. I’ll try again now that I’ve got my new camera (5D classic for anyone who missed the announcement!)

I’m sure glad these weren’t paying clients!

Speaking of paying clients, have you seen my new blog? It’s still under construction, but check it out anyway. Here it is

Some (possibly) exciting news !

Warning: TMI in this post

This is Brock.

As most of you know, over the last 10 months or so, B has had some tummy problems. It all began at the end of May last year. B had what we thought was a stomach bug. Basically, (here’s the TMI) he was having several runny diapers a day. He had a stomach bug about 5 months before that, so we knew to try to wait it out again, do the BRAT diet, and start probiotics. At 2 weeks, I called the pedi. the told us to give it one more week and call them again. At 3 weeks, we called them back. This is when the testing began. We had to collect stool samples (nearly impossible due to the wateryness and totally disgusting!). They tested him for just about everything you can think of. Everything came back normal.

This is when we first learned that Celiac Disease could be the cause. While we waited for a GI appointment and later some scopes, we switched him to a gluten free diet. It seemed to help, so we stuck with it. His diapers were not normal, but not nearly as bad as they had been. At 15 months old, B went in for a colonoscopy and an endoscopy. Again, everything came back normal. So, we reintroduced gluten and dairy. Didn’t make problems worse, but didn’t make them better either.

We’ve been to the GI doc twice since November and everything, according to her, is pointing to toddler/functional diarrhea. Basically, he’s just going to have the poops until he outgrows it. Could be soon, could be a few years. Right now, we’re waiting on him to turn 2 and then planning on testing for food allergy/sensitivities. I just want to rule out EVERYTHING before we say, “Fine, it’s just something weird he’ll outgrow….”

Well, we are very happy (can’t you tell?) to report that for the past 4 days, B has had solid poos!! 4 straight days. Now, this could be a fluke and they could go back to disgusting at any moment, but for now, I’m taking it as answered prayers. I will continue to pray that we get it all straightened out, though. #1. It can’t be fun to have yucky diapers all the time  and #2. This mama does not even want to think about potty training while he has bad poos!

For now, I just wanted to share the excitement. I know some of you were waiting an update. I can’t think of a better one than this.

Happy (late) Valentine’s Day

Happy very late Valentine’s Day from my boys to you :)

Sleeping Angels

One of God’s greatest gifts is a sleeping baby. There is nothing sweeter. They’re just so innocent when they’re snoozin’. I can’t help but stare at them when they’re just so angelic. So, this whole post is dedicated to my angels sleeping. <3

I have reminded myself to slow down and just take these moments in. It won’t be long before they are few and far between.

52 Project– C-I are for…

Just so you know, I haven’t quit this project yet ;) I just haven’t blogged them. Here they are C through I. Enjoy.

C is for crayons. Obviously, I didn’t save a copy of this one with the color block. Oops.

Full birthday post to come ;)
