Tools, coffee and shoes

Since we last met, I’ve been a very busy gal. Last Wednesday, after I posted, the boys and I went to Columbus for a few days. I had a newborn session with Mr. Nolan on Thursday morning. You can see those on my Facebook page if you want :) He was the perfect little model. He slept the entire time. I just wanted to snuggle with him. I miss those snuggly days.

Friday, the boys and I just hung out at Mom’s house, nothing exciting happened. I did get some cell photos, but I can’t share them. Why? Well, my phone is hanging out in a bowl of rice. It got wet somehow and it’s not working properly. Joy.

Saturday, I had a whole day of boudoir sessions with 4 great girlfriends. I am so blessed that my friends help me pursue this dream. I won’t share those photos though. They’re private. And… well… I haven’t processed them yet.

That evening, Brocky and I came home. Gav stayed with Gram for the night. It was a nice quiet ride home. I listened to Bart Millard’s Hymned Again. I took the time (without Gavin and Cars playing on the DVD) to sing loudly and chat with God.

Sunday, Brock and I went to Church while Jon went to Columbus with my dad. They came home with Gavin and all of Jon’s tools. Let me tell ya, Jon has been DYING to get these tools here. So, of course. I had to document their arrival.

Gavin was such a big help.

Monday, the boys and I had a pj day. Later in the day, I did manage to get them dressed… kinda. I got out Gav’s activity tray and let B have a snack in the living room. Gav helped share the snack.

This is how B likes to sit now… silly kid.

Did you notice his shirt in the last photo? I had coffee earlier in the day and it got cold. I had the cup sitting on the coffee table. B got it while I was in the kitchen. Oops. I had just gotten him dressed right before this, when he ate his snack. Clothing change again….

B’s 2nd outfit change ;) 18 months, I might add.

Tuesday, the boys and I went to a consignment sale. I got Gav a couple outfits and shirts and B got some new shoes! They’re Pediped brand and they fit him perfectly. I had a hard time finding shoes because his feet are so fat. I got 2 practically new pairs of shoes for less than half the price of one new pair. :) Score.

Speaking of new. Like my new do? :)

Bink addict :)

B is no longer army crawling. He’s a full-blown crawler! He’s as quick as a snake!

There are cell photos from Wednesday and Thursday… but as mentioned before, cell phone is unavailable right now.

Going, going, going

That’s what has been going on here!  Last week, I went to Columbus and then came back. We’ve been home a few days and have been enjoying this GORGEOUS weather up here! :) The boys and I are leaving again tonight to go to Columbus again! I need a haircut and I have several photo sessions this weekend! Fun, fun! So, this is going to be a HUGE post full of last week’s photos and this week’s so far. I will *try* to post on Saturday night when I get home. Gav may stay in Columbus if Gram will let him, so I might have some free time ;)

Here lately, B has been addicted to binks. Weird. I think he must be teething. He’s 8 months old and still doesn’t have any… we will see.

Also, Gav has been a whiner lately ;)

Love me some Brotherly Love!

IMG_5660

Don’t love me some whining ;)

IMG_5671IMG_5667IMG_5673

B has mastered this army crawling (and sometimes real crawling) so we have to gate him in the living room He wanted out.

IMG_5681

Later, I did let him out and blocked off the stairs with the gate…

IMG_5695

I thought B needed a mohawk. I think he liked it! :)

IMG_5711IMG_5714IMG_5732

Last Tuesday, he found a magazine. I think he liked the girl on the cover ;)

Last Wednesday, I got to officially meet Mr. Nolan. Isn’t he a doll?? I love babies!!

B got a sink bath at Gram’s house. Do you think he liked it?!

Did I mention the weather is beautiful here?! Sunday, after church, we spent most of the afternoon outside. B got to go on his first wagon rides ;)

IMG_5786IMG_5790

Gav helped Dalton plant some flowers… hopefully they’re no maintenance flowers. I don’t have a green thumb ;)

IMG_5792IMG_5793IMG_5801

The joys of having boys.

Monday was beautiful again! B wore some of Gav’s old clothes (size 18 months!!!) and we played outside a bit…

Do I have a redhead?!

IMG_5874IMG_5878IMG_5883IMG_5885

Gav wanted a picture with me… we tried.

Last night, Gav gave B some snacks on the kitchen floor… B also got grumpy ;)

IMG_5899IMG_5900

So, he got a bath and a bottle… he crashed ;)

B wanted to give you a “sneak peek” of his Easter outfit…

I bribed Gav for a photo…

What I learned this week.

Hello, all! :) We just got back from a few days in Columbus. I promise I have photos to share, but that will be a separate post. For now, I want to just share some very important things I learned this week.

1. Don't take anything in your life for granted.
This should always be a given, but this week, I was reminded of this lesson. I am a member on an all women photography message board. A few months ago, a woman joined and told a little about herself, including that she had a terminally ill husband. You can follow her story here Sunday night, the message board got together and had a photographer come to the family's home for some photos on Monday. Brandi's husband passed away on Tuesday. My heart breaks for them.

I took a step back and just looked at everything we have. I have 2 healthy boys, a husband who provides everything for our family, anything I could ever need. We are blessed. I also took the time to realize that these things are not always guaranteed. I need to forever be grateful for everything I have at this moment. I can't imagine losing my husband right now. I pray for Brandi and Kate every single day, multiple times.

2. A newborn baby will always give me baby fever!
My good friend, Sara, just had a beautiful baby boy this week. This was actually the reason the boys and I headed to Columbus ;) Baby Nolan is just perfect. He had a bit of a rough start, but he's home now and doing fabulous! :)

Holding Nolan in the hospital made me relive all the moments of pregnancy, childbirth, having a newborn. I found myself wanting another baby, even though I have an 8 month old!! I know it is crazy, but there is nothing like bringing a new baby into this world!

3. There are two cures for baby fever.
First cure, having another baby.

Second cure, a toddler meltdown. Specifically, a toddler meltdown at 3:30 in the morning about a bouncy ball that was left in the car. So, after trying to calm Gavin down about the ball and trying to convince him that we would find it in the morning, we ended up searching the car at 3:30 in the morning. This kid does not forget anything! He also reminded me that all babies grow up to be toddlers ;) Baby fever gone.

4. I have the greatest mom ever!
She is willing to watch one or both of my boys at the drop of a hat! I got to go see Mr. Nolan the night he was born, without my boys! :) It was fabulous! I also got to go out to eat with a good friend because she took Gav to church with her. She's so great! :)

5. I sometimes like middle of the night feedings.
No, I don't want to get up every single night, but I don't mind getting up every once in a while. I realize that these days are numbered. My babies won't be babies forever. If feeding B means he'll fall asleep in my arms and snuggle for a while, then heck yeah! :) I just love when he grabs my arm and just hangs on for his whole bottle. I love watching him sleep. He is an angel. I don't want to forget these moments.

I may come back and add to this if I remember some other things I learned!
